It all started innocently enough, I went to a restaurant, after a long day at the beach in Makriaylos. The sun was just barely visible behind the cliffs. I ordered moussaka and a glass of rose. The waiter said "Big or little?" I thought, what the heck and replied "Big!". About 5 minutes later he was there with a full bottle of wine. I told him there was no way I could drink that, and he said, "One glass, 4€, full bottle, 8€.". With that logic, who would argue? Next thing you know I am chatting, or not really, more like struggling my way through a conversation with about 8 Greeks. We get to talking about the ocean in Canada and how amazing the sea here is, and next thing you know, we are stripping down to go for a midnight swim. These sorts of things are the reason I travel. The unexpected highlights of a trip. The random things you get into, and the way people open up to strangers. Traveling alone has been trying and I haven't enjoyed myself to the fullest, fir fear of having no backup or beung caught somewhere I don't want to be, aline. Tonight made up for a bit of that. Exactly one week until I'm home. I have been missing home more than usual this trip, but I know that once I'm back, I will miss this as well.
